Dr. Barth works in the area of steel bridge analysis, design and rating. Areas of interest are in advanced analysis techniques and member performance issue and experimental and field evaluation of structural components and systems. Example topics of interest include: live load deflections, superstructure dynamic characteristics, distribution of live load, cross-frame performance, curved girder behavior, and inelastic design methods. Additionally, Dr. Barth works in the area of bridge substructure.
