Dr. Darrell R. Dean, Jr. has a graduate degree in surveying and mapping from Purdue University. His teaching career began in 1969 at Glenville State College where he was instrumental in starting the surveying program there. Since 1977, he has taught surveying at West Virginia University. He has served as president of the West Virginia Association of Land Surveyors and as chairman of the West Virginia State Board of Examiners of Land Surveyors, now the WV Board of Professional Surveyors
